Plagiarism

The International Journal of Business and Economic Growth (IJBEG) has a strict policy against plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. Plagiarism includes presenting another person's ideas, words, data, research findings, structures, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgment. Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are free from plagiarism and properly acknowledge all sources used in the research. The journal may use appropriate plagiarism-detection software or other similarity-assessment mechanisms as part of its editorial screening process. Cases of suspected plagiarism may be investigated by the editorial team. Depending on the severity and circumstances, possible actions may include :

  • Requesting clarification from the authors;
  • Requiring appropriate correction or citation;
  • Rejecting the manuscript;
  • Retracting a published article;
  • Notifying the authors' affiliated institution or relevant authority where appropriate.

Similarity scores generated by plagiarism-detection software are considered screening indicators rather than automatic evidence of plagiarism. Editorial assessment considers the nature, location, context, and source of the similarities. Authors are expected to maintain academic honesty throughout the research, submission, review and publication process
